I've been tagged

Here's the deal: Remove the blog in the top spot from the following list and bump everyone up one place.
Then add your blog to the bottom slot, like so:

Queen of West Procrastination
VanderMeander
following the herd
The confused foreigner
Scattered Musings

Next select five people to tag (only if you wanna, no pressure):
Roberta
Maureen
Aleese
Jordan
Nat
Brittany

What were you doing 10 years ago?
I was in eleventh grade and skipping out on school to drive my little grey cavalier around the city. I was in the middle of amassing an obscenely huge music collection via used record stores... I thought it was so important then. I had long curly hair and hung out a lot with my brother.

What were you doing one year ago?
Taking photographs of life size blanket people in my basement suite. It was great, I could have parties in my basement with imaginary friends and get away with it, as an adult, because I exhibited it as art. It was really art, in a pathetic sort of way. Pure fun.

Five snacks you enjoy:
snap peas
yogurt with quaker cereal in it
edamame beans
cherry tomatoes
graham crackers

Five songs to which you know all the lyrics:
Only One (Hillsong)
For the Widows in Paradise (Sufjan Stevens)
The Man Comes Around (Cash)
In Dreams (Roy Orbison)
At Calvary

Five things you would do if you were a millionaire:
1. Get rid of my student loan
2. Invest a whack of money
3. Find a way to invest the cash so it could reap eternal rewards... not just buy bling bling.

Five bad habits:
1. Procrastinating about laundry
2. putting off vaccuming my car
3. leaving my desk "untidy"
4. letting the day get away too quickly...
5. incessantly checking my email. I can't help it. I may not even be expecting anything but I can't help checking. It's weird. I can't stop. Somebody stop me.

Five things you like doing:
1. Connecting with strangers, having them no longer be strangers
2. Singing/listening to music
3. Painting
4. going for long walks to nowhere in particular, collecting stones...
5. sharing time with my family

Five things you would never wear again:
1. that navy dress mom sewed for my highschool boyfriend's grad - oooohhh man that was bad! I couldn't even comfortably lift my right arm.
2. banana barretts and oversize scruntchies
3. leggings, not even to Wal-Mart
4. moon boots
5. my black cape (just kidding)

Favourite toys:
Settlers of Catan- I just got hooked.
the camera on my phone.
my ipod.
My miniature dollhouse (as a kid of course... but I may be prone to play with it now if it was around)
Online soundboards - I like to prank friends and family with them. Sometimes I laugh so hard I swear I'll split my gut.

Painting on a pregnant friend

What an amazing day! I took a break from support raising today and painted my friend's (Janelle) pregnant tummy. Isn't she a beautiful mom? The baby is due any day so we had to seize the moment. I could start a whole new brand of outreach... body painting... hmmm...

Her husband had the idea that I should paint Noah's ark and have the animals marching two by two into her belly button. AND he had some other wacky ideas about body painting but you'll have to ask him to tell you - I guess one of them involved a painting of a slab of roast beef. HA!

I haven't painted in over a year and am glad to know that I haven't lost my touch. I desperately want to set up a studio space to make some art ... so many images are flooding into my head right now. Time to draw them out.

Thinking about Valentines

I'm thinking about Valentines because it is coming up... if my heart could sing it would be floating music up to the heavens.

Have you ever loved so deeply that words were just too inadequate to express the wellspring within you? It is possible to have a never ending source within your spirit that overflows you and those around with healing and the deepest of loves.

I want this Valentines day to be a day where my friends find this source for themselves, I want them to meet Jesus so they can have a relationship with God. How does one have a relationship with God?!

1. First of all, God loves you. He loves you and has an amazing plan for your life. God loves you. Can you hear Him calling out to you?

2. Because of "sin", passive indifference and open rebellion to God, you are separated from knowing God personally. But there is good news for you, God sent His son Jesus to pay the price for your "sin" so that you can know God intimately. He loved you that much that He came and paid the price for you Himself. "For God so loved the world that he gave His one and only son that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life." John 3:16

3. Confess your sin to God, He promises to forgive you (1 John 1:9)! Ask Jesus to come into your life and He will. (You will wonder why you waited so long to be loved like this!)

4. Believe and know that you are now reconciled to God! He has forgiven you and come into your life when you asked!

In Jesus is life, light, and truth. He will give you the fullness of love. Happy Valentines...
